Entry Prime: Ground Rules

As I sit here in boxer shorts and t-shirt, I see that a scheduled outage of the blogger network is set for 2:00 am. It is now 1:42 am. I have 18 minutes to lay out my vision for my first foray into blogging.

Dear Blog,

Know that I am a bad speller. I may be the worst speller. I make no excuses for my ineptitude. Somwhere between kindergarten and middle school, during the time which I was supposed to spend perfecting this life skill, Spellcheck came into my life. For whatever reason I decided that I could over come my deficiencies in spelling with the advent of technology. Here, in this blog, it is my intention to be completely honest with you, and in so doing, achieve an honesty with myself that has thus far eluded me. Therefore, I vow to refrain from spellchecking anything while writting here. This may not seem important, but to know my spelling errors is to love me. Sure, I realize that this blog will likely go unread for its lifetime. I also realize that this blog's lifetime is likely to be short given the gumption it takes see anything through that requires steady, measured attention. But this blog is really just to help me sleep, so don't hold it against me.

Know, also, that write slowly. Slow typer? Yes. Slow thinker? Sometimes. Slow witted? I hope not.

Know that I plan to use this blog as tool for everything that hours of turning and sweating in bed has never been. When my brain won't shut down, I can't go to sleep.

We'll shit. I better hit publish before 2:00 am so I can start this thing and don't lose my resolve. More to come, I'm sure...
